Breaking Barriers: Yale Law Women+’s Top Firms for DEI in 2024
Oct 29, 2025
Gender equality and diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) policies within law firms are of huge importance to many of our candidates. The legal industry continues to take great strides in this area. In 2O24, women made up over 50% of all associates for the first time in history. Despite this, disparities still exist. Associates of color only account for 30% of all associates, while the number of summer associates of color has decreased for the first time since 2017. Much work remains to be done at the partnership level, where fewer than 30% of partners are women, and less than 5% are women of color.
For the 19th consecutive year, Yale Law Women+ has published its Top Firms report. This report aims to recognize and celebrate firms that have excelled in DEI, to foster a dialogue within the industry, and to guide their law students to make the best choices for their future.
